Members present:  Evelyn Stichter, Candy Henkler, Patricia Puffer, Karin Hartman, Laurie Blough, Cindy Hawkins, Nancy Kosteck, Carolyn Hertzler

Minutes from last month – Evelyn read.  Correction – Laurie instead of Lisa Blough.  Shearer’s spelling does not include an  “a” . Motion to pass minutes as corrected by Patricia Puffer, seconded by Carolyn Hertzler.

Teacher Recital – Patricia reports that even though she forgot to bring her list, there are several people participating.  Everyone should email her with additions or more information as to what will be played.  Deadline for information is June 4 and then Pat will send it out to everyone. There are 2 pianos available if wanted. 

Dates for Guild Auditions were April 27, and May 5.  Talked about joining Guild by January/February so that judges can get lined up.

Treasurer's Report – checking account currently $1804.90.  Last month - $232.00 was spent for mileage to Claudia Bossard.  Received $75 from dues.  Reminder to the rest of the group to get dues paid.

Opportunity to contribute to Stickley Scholarship fund:  Individuals received a mailing to contribute, but GEMTA was also invited to contribute as a group.  Is this something that we want to participate in?  Even if we don’t have students participate, should we contribute as a local music organization to support one another?  After discussing we have come to the conclusion that we will wait to contribute at this time.

Goshen College Workshop – those planning at this point to go are Lisa Showalter, Candy Henkler, and a few others are considering it.  May 19 is deadline for $190 price, after which it increases up to $215.  Request in writing for $50 scholarship from GEMTA should go to Maxine Yoder.

AIM – Candy Henkler needs to send request to State for dates.  Candy will check with Goshen College for available dates. 

Student Recital – Patricia Puffer has a recital at Walter’s Piano and Candy Henkler at Goshen City Church of the Brethren.

TAP has theory exams May 12.

Motion to adjourn was made by  Laurie Blough and second by Candy Henkler.

Following the meeting we share duets with each other and had some delicious food.
