Dr. Lori Rhoden

Dr. Rhoden's Biography (2015)
Lori Rhoden is Professor of Music Performance and Coordinator of Piano Pedagogy and Group Piano at Ball State University. She has performed in China, Korea, Canada, and throughout the United States. In 2011, she completed the Southwest China Piano Pedagogy Project as a Fulbright Specialist grant recipient. She has been a piano faculty member at the summer Masterworks Festival since 2002, and has been the Masterworks piano program director since 2006.  Dr. Rhoden was a guest instructor for the Yamaha Passport to Music program in 2009 and 2011.
Dr. Rhoden has presented conference sessions and/or research posters for the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) national conferences, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and various state and local associations.  She has been a member of the Research Committee for the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy and has written articles for American Music Teacher, Clavier and Keyboard Companion.
Dr.  Rhoden completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at the University of South Carolina, Master of Church Music and Performer’s Certificate from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Bachelor of Music Education and Certificate in Piano Performance from Florida State University. An active member of MTNA, she currently serves on the MTNA collegiate chapter of the year committee. She is chair of the IMTA Board of Trustees and also serves on the Board of Directors as collegiate chapters chair. Rhoden was honored with the IMTA 2010 Teacher of the Year award.
